What's your deal, Meghan McCain!

Meghan McCain recently wrote an article for The Daily Beast that negatively dissed the GOP for their views on abortion, birth control, and abstinence education. Ok, Meghan claims to be a registered Republican, so maybe she needs to actually understand what she is talking about. I guess I really don't understand *why* she is being marketed as a pundit when she isn't even educated on the topics she is bantering about.

I'm an independent and I understand this stuff. Abortion and birth control may not be the same thing, but they are the same evil.

"Here’s what I’ve never understood about the party: its resistance to discussing better access to birth control. As a Republican, I am pro-life. But using birth control and having an abortion are not the same at all. Actually, the best way to prevent abortions is to educate people about birth control and make it widely and easily accessible. True, abstinence is the only way to fully prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Still, the problem with abstinence-only education is that it does not make teenagers and young adults more knowledgeable about all the issues they face if or when they have sex—physically and emotionally." Update: Confession time.

When I first read Meghan McCain's article, it was all over the place. I really didn't understand what her *main point* was, so I commented on the point that I found most interesting. I'm sorry for any of you readers that were confused.

*Drumroll please*

Apparently, Ms. McCain's *bottom line* is as follows:
"Bottom line: Honesty isn’t a liberal or conservative issue. It’s a human one. The sooner we realize that, the better off we’ll be."

My bottom line, on the other hand is:
First, Meghan McCain's article is "all over the place" and even with the *bottom line* notation, I am still confused. Secondly, why is Meghan McCain even dubbed as a conservative pundit. Thirdly, does any one else find it interesting that the often extremely liberal show The View is employing her as their "token" conservative co-host while Elisabeth Hasselbeck is on maternity leave. For what other reason besides, "her Father is a Senator", is she in the spotlight?
